Invasion

Kim M. Russell at the d‘Verse Poets Pub, prompted us to write in the manner of Sylvia Plath about something invasive.

adsters

        dawn to dusk

and all night through

their little voices

argue, cajole

joke, beseech

seduce, entice

buy

they whisper

buy, buy, buy

drugs, laxatives

sniffle stoppers

toilet paper

planes, trucks

automobiles

dead movie stars

and live girls

boys, cats, dogs

women, men

so eager to persuade

they sometimes

forget

to mention

what

they’re selling

Invasive and toxic – good subject choice.
