Kim M. Russell at the d‘Verse Poets Pub, prompted us to write in the manner of Sylvia Plath about something invasive.

        dawn to dusk

and all night through

their little voices

argue, cajole

joke, beseech

seduce, entice

they whisper

buy, buy, buy

drugs, laxatives

sniffle stoppers

toilet paper

planes, trucks

dead movie stars

and live girls

boys, cats, dogs

women, men

so eager to persuade

they sometimes

to mention

they’re selling
